Looking for that perfect afternoon treat to pair with your coffee or tea?  Look no further!  This bread is simple to whip together and highlights one of our favourite fruits to bake with, Italian Plums.  Packs lots of flavour with a few simple ingredients.  Best of all, you can make a few and then store them in the freezer .  

 Recipe: 

Yeild– 4 Med Loves

Ingredients:

2 cups diced Italian Plums

3 cups flour

1 cup butter

1 1/2 cups sugar

1 tsp vanilla

4 eggs

1 tsp salt

1 tsp cream of tartar

1 tsp baking soda

3/4 cup vanilla yogurt

Instructions :

  1. Preheat over to 350
  2. Cream butter, sugar and vanilla together until fluffy
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition
  4. Sift together flour, salt, cream of tarter and baking soda
  5. Add about 1/3 of yogurt to the mixture and then 1/3 of flour mixture, alternating until all is added
  6. Fill 4 med greased and floured pans 1/2 full with batter, then add 1/8 fruit to each pan, then the remaining batter and top with remaining fruit
  7. Bake at 350 for 50 min
  8. Cool in a pan for 15 min and then turn out on wire rack to cool. 

** Bonus- Freezes well
