A Love For Farming

Orchard Life

Family owned and operated orchard and fruit stand on the shores of Lake Erie in Kingsville Ontario.  Known for the most amazing fresh and ripe apples,  peaches, pears & Italian plums in the county.

Born on the farm in 1941, the farmer , John Hungler has been farming this slice of heaven for 8 decades. His pride in his farm and crop is apparent as he freely offers what he considers to be “the best of his daily pick”.   Many friendships have developed over the tasting of the delicious apples over the years.

Meet The Farmer

John Hungler

Farming in his bones.  He was  born and raised here on the farm and is a second generation farmer.  As a young man he grew cash crops for his family, while simultaneously going to University to get his teaching degree.  He planted the orchard in 1974 and even when he taught at Kingsville High School, he still took care of the orchard daily.

He retired from teaching and went back to his roots as a full time apple grower.  He takes great pride in his orchard and his fruit.  If you stop by,  you can find him on his tractor around the farm picking or up at the stand selling his produce.

What we do

Fresh To You

Being a small artisinal farm, we are able to pick varieties  tree ripened at the height of their readiness. AKA “deliciousness”.

We have 5 acres of orchard that we harvest from July – November.  Fresh picked daily straight to you.  There’s nothing more tasty than a fresh apple off the tree.

Are they ready? Are they hard? Are they crunchy & juicy? One of the benefits or our small stand is that you can taste a new variety or an old favourite to see if it’s to your liking.  We’ve been known to have our version of a “tasting bar” at the stand.
